There’s a guy rn walking around Hollywood who groomed, murdered, chopped up a 14 year old girl and let her decompose in the trunk of his car so forgive me if I don’t fall for the attempted cancellation of Chappell Roan that’s happening
no more poignant/pathetic image on TV right now than in "Thoughts and Prayers" (HBO documentary): middle-aged women school teachers clutching revolvers in shaky hands, glancing nervously over their shoulders in a "preparedness drill" at their school. fact is, these poor women armed with mere hand guns
would be mowed down within seconds by an invading school shooter with military-style weapons--(exactly why law enforcement officers hesitate to enter schools under siege of invasions).
The response to school shootings has been dictated by capitalism, because, isn't that just the American way? A new documentary from Zackary Canepari and Jessica Dimmock looks at the 'business' created by our lack of gun reform, and how the United States has adapted to the crisis, instead of actually addressing it. #ThoughtsAndPrayers

Large swells + long period = major dune and shoreline impact
Don't remember another hurricane like this, on this path. Surfers might love it but oceanfront owners and NC DOT about to hate it. Wouldn't surprise me to see N Hatteras village, N Buxton, Ocean View Dr in Avon, and Mirlo area in Rodanthe with water all the way across the road - all at once.
For areas with no dune left (parts of Rodanthe, Nags Head, KDH, Kitty Hawk, Avon, Buxton) oceanfront homeowners should be prepping now, especially ground floor game rooms/etc. Even areas in Corolla with beaches that have seen significant erosion might see dunes being cut in half.
I expect the news to sensationalize a couple of homes in Rodanthe that are already out in the ocean as they collapse, but that's not the real story here. We hold our breath during nor'easters and king tide+storm cycles because of potential to erode the beach and wipe out Hwy 12. This storm could create entirely new inlets.
If this track and this prediction holds it could be unprecedented relentless wave energy for days - and I've been here a long time.
It's already pounding the shoreline in Buxton. Not a good sign. (pic courtesy of https://t.co/U6hBf2Wm6E)
What’s the point of Vanity Fair without the pillars and people that made it reputable in the first place. Lawson’s and Canfield’s reviews are so integral to the sites identity. Wow. Fuck this noise. Sad day for film journalism.
@herculysee@Target you need to ban this man from your stores and provide this woman copy of video surveillance. But that probably went out the window with DEI, right?
