@writerofscratch My undergrad university had a mandatory meal plan for freshman (who lived on campus), because you could only use a microwave to cook in the freshman buildings. The general impression was that the policy was to make sure students didn't starve, but of course it wasn't affordable

In the fall, I’ll be teaching an elective at Temple on The Sociology of Japanese Pop Culture! 🌸✨ The course will include learning about sociological theory (from Western and Japanese scholars) on gender, sexuality, and ethnicity, and analyzing media as cultural artifacts.
