The biggest threat to a narcissist is an intuitive empath. Narcissists thrive in environments where confusion, doubt, and surface-level appearances dominate. An intuitive person or intuitive empath disrupts that entire dynamic because they can see through the mask. These are people who can sense dissonance between words and energy, between someone's public persona and their private intentions. That terrifies and offends the narcissist.
When an intuitive empath senses manipulation, dishonesty, or emotional incongruence and calls it out, even subtly, the narcissist often reacts with offense, outrage, or indignation. Not because the empath is wrong — but because they’re right. And being seen for what they truly are threatens the fragile illusion the narcissist is trying to maintain. It’s not supposed to be possible. You’re not supposed to know when they’re trying to gaslight you. You’re not supposed to know when they’re lying to you. You’re an anomaly to their ability to float thru life manipulating people.
