📣 Recruiting Update 🐻
Alius Mayo will be on campus at Cal on June 9.
The 6’4, 190‑pound cornerback from Modesto Junior College has emerged as one of the most intriguing JUCO defensive backs in the 2026–27 cycle. With length, physicality, and fluid movement skills, he brings a profile that fits perfectly with what Cal is building in the secondary.
Mayo, a 3.54 GPA student‑athlete and a December grad, has been gaining momentum quickly — and his upcoming visit to Berkeley is a strong sign of mutual interest.
A high‑upside defender with real tools, and now set to get a closer look at what Cal has to offer.

People see the apparel, but they don’t see the thousands of hours that went into getting it on the rack. 🧱
From the first design meeting to the pop-up at the Cal Spring Game, this has been a family-led operation. My parents are the foundation of this brand. They’ve been building this with me from the ground up, in the dark, when no one was looking. To Team JKS, we don’t just execute; we innovate. Thank you for making the vision a reality.
We’re just getting started. 🌊🐻

While a grad student in English at Cal, Allen Ginsberg lived in a cottage behind a house on Milvia Street, where he worked on "Howl" and wrote most of the other works in his book "Howl and Other Poems" - including a poem about living in his Berkeley cottage.
The spot where gold was discovered (1848) has a rock monument with "Sutter Mill" in smaller white rocks. An old saw blade was discovered here in September 1924, helping locate the exact mill site. The south fork of the American River flows behind the monument. Mt. Murphy in the background.
Special effects pioneer John Dykstra, born June 3, 1947, worked at Cal's Institute of Urban Development 1975-1977. While working there, Dykstra developed techniques for filming miniatures that would revolutionize movie special effects, beginning with "Star Wars."
📣 Recruiting Update 🐻📈
Austin Attalah has announced his Top 8 schools — and Cal made the cut.
The 5⭐️ offensive tackle is one of the premier talents in the Class of 2028, and his list reads like a who’s‑who of college football. Programs with national prestige and deep recruiting power are all in the mix for his commitment.
Now the question becomes whether Cal truly has a shot at landing one of the top OT prospects in the entire class.
A commitment from a player of Attalah’s caliber would elevate everything this coaching staff has built so far into an entirely different sphere.

"I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness..." Poet Allen Ginsberg, born 100 years ago, June 3, 1926, completed his masterpiece, "Howl," while a Cal grad student in 1955-56. A groundbreaking work of LGBTQ literature, it prevailed in a landmark obscenity trial.
