@CollegeFBPortal Well, I guess there are NO rules any longer. After all, other things have happened. And it's not murder. OK, so maybe murder might still incur a short suspension. Just looking out for the players.
@ATabarrok@grok A dash of patriotism never hurt anybody. The flyovers, national anthem, and such are moments when politics and such can melt away and we are one people striving to better live up to the ideals this country was founded on.
@TreyWallace I personally think Penn St should have received the death penalty, but even so everyone involved was fired and you can be very, very sure that it was a monumental scandal that damaged Penn St and even Coach Joe in a major way. Penn St did not get away without serious consequences
@AbeerYasir_ Many Sudanese are peaceful. The problem is that there is essentially no vetting process before an individual is allowed to migrate from problematic areas, and the problems plaguing countries such as Sudan are allowed to spread. Immigration systems across the West are broken.
@ZackPolanski I'm for immigration, but it's insane to encourage/invite migration of unvetted individuals from countries whose cultures embed values completely destructive to a Western democracy, be it a constitutional republic like the US or a parliamentary constitutional monarchy like the UK.
@LilFin12 Lando's not winning the title this year. McLaren would have to become completely dominant right now - this week - and even then it would be very, very difficult. It's between Kimi and George unless Ferrari takes an immediate leap forward. Kimi has been awesome, and he'll win WDC.
@chris_kratovil Where in the temporary injunction does it obligate TTU to play the player in question? TTU can be in full compliance with that court order without allowing the player to play. It's not a "I can do whatever I want" card that will protect TTU from their intended course of action.
@PeteNakos TTU is hiding behind the lawsuit to avoid having to deal with the Sorsby issue, but the lawsuit does not obligate TTU to play Sorsby. I'm sure there are any number of agreements that TTU could use to suspend Sorsby, cut him, whatever. Instead, they'll play him as if all is well.
@CoyoteRaider Not even close. A bright-line rule has been smashed. And there WAS a governing body all the way up until the player, cheered on by the program, sued to gut the NCAAโs authority in front of a local judge.
@DucksFly08 He's an adult who made thousands of mistakes. I'm not advocating the death penalty for him or anything of the sort, but there has to be consequences to such egregious rule/law breaking or it's just anything goes.
@TheHerd@colincowherd So no consequences for anybody for any reason, I guess. After all, it's just people doing stupid things (which are also illegal and against the rules they agreed to follow), so anything goes.
@Griffin_McVeigh Sorsby and TT are in full control of whether he plays or not, so of courses it's their fault. Nobody forced Sorsby to sue, and nobody is forcing TT to play him. And the vast majority of programs would NOT play a player under these circumstances. Integrity matters.
@timeforjeffrey Some programs and fans actually value integrity. The program I support would NEVER roster a player under similar circumstances, and the fanbase would support that decision 100%.
Win-at-all-costs is an ugly look, and extremely detrimental to college athletics.
@geoffjBYU Sorsby broke very clear rules/laws, but refuses to be governed by them. TT is also refusing to abide by well-established rules. And I don't buy the addiction reasoning for allowing him to play. There must be consequences for bad behavior, or we'll only get more bad behavior.
@Inevitablewest Assuming this video to be real (a dangerous assumption these days), this is not the way to affect change. Issues of immigration will only be improved through the ballot box. Politicians need to fear loss of power. Setting fire to your own town won't get it done.
@byBDavis Why is TT obligated to fight for any player's right to play after NCAA enforced a well-established rule? Does TT allow their athletes to gamble on games/events? If so, shame on them. If not, then why fight for this exception?
It's nothing more than crass win-at-all costs.
