Some people say that during ghost hunts I’m easily distracted. I completely disagree.
Here are three reasons why:
1. Because I’m focused & fully committed to the investigation.
2. Because... ooh, a big fluffy cat.
3. Sorry, where was I?

Right, because the gold standard for unknown aerial phenomena is “show us the dead aliens or GTFO”. Brilliant epistemology, Mike.
They didn't recover the spy balloon because it was prosaic…they shot it down precisely because they knew what it was. That's the opposite of UAPs, where military pilots with impeccable credentials, plus the actual professionals who analyze sensor & radar data for a living, all record objects doing physics-defying maneuvers that aren't balloons.
But sure, keep demanding the mothership land on your lawn while dismissing every case that doesn't come with a souvenir. The Chinese balloon had wreckage…these things have 80+ years of consistent multi-witness, multi-sensor reports from the very people who fly jets & interpret the data for national security.
Demanding “all the aliens” is just a lazy way to avoid engaging with the data you claim doesn't exist. Classic skeptic move: raise the evidentiary bar so high that nothing can clear it, then declare victory. How's that working out for the “it's all weather balloons” crowd these days?
