If you're planning to buy a car in 2027, chances are you'll be stuck with a seriously Orwellian "safety" feature.

Congress quietly passed a regulation during Joe Biden's presidency mandating that 2027 car models have a "kill switch" that shuts off your car if the driver is determined to be impaired. This determination would use various sensors and trackers that could measure anything from the driver's eye movements to alcohol concentration in their breath.
