A prayer for when lies try to take root...
God, help me untangle this lie from my thoughts and replace it with Your life-giving Truth. This lie is damaging and defeating so I will not allow it to hijack my mind or hinder my heart. With Your powerful Truth in me, I am set free.
Think of how much less conflict & drama we might have if we chose to be less offend-able. Less quick to jump to conclusions. Less likely to perceive a rejection that was never intended. And less likely to get distracted from our real assignment to love God & love others.
While you’re waiting for an answer from God in one area of your life, don’t put all the other areas on hold. Watch for where God is giving you direction and go with that. Trust him with the stuff that is still unanswered and keep moving forward. He knows what we don’t.
New day.
New mercies.
New opportunities.
New possibilities.
New challenges.
New hopes.
New dreams.
New paths.
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isa 43:19)
If God called you to it:-
He will grace you for it.
He will equip you for it.
He will empower you for it.
He will resource you for it.
He will strengthen you for it.
He is your source and supply.
Father, we declare that You are good and You can be trusted. Help us trade our unbelief for the beautiful relief that we don’t have to figure everything out. We just have to fix our thoughts on Jesus and how He will lead us. We don’t have to understand, we just have to trust.
The most effective battle strategy to combat the fear of the unknown is trusting God who is known to be true and faithful. Don’t get lost in the shadows of uncertainty today.
Where God is, good is being worked. Breathe in hope and keep moving forward.
SET your mind (Col 3:2)
FIX your eyes (Hebrews 12:2)
GUARD your heart (Proverbs 4:23)
LIFT up your hands (Psalm 63:4)
RESTRAIN your feet (Psalm 119:101)
STAND firm (Ephesians 6:13)
HOLD your tongue (Proverbs 10:19)
INCLINE your ear (Isaiah 55:3)
We do our part. God does his.
When we hold onto anger, bitterness & unforgiveness, we do the devil’s work for him. But when we give evidence to God's work in us by trading anger for kindness, resentment for compassion & bitterness for gentleness... it splits this cold world wide open with the warmth of Jesus.
