Americans aren't looking for optimism. They're looking for reassurance.
And right now, no institution is supplying it: not government, not media, not business.

That gap is the defining consumer and political challenge of this decade.

[Ricardo @Ric_RTP]

Palantir's CEO just exposed Sam Altman and Dario Amodei for robbing every Fortune 500 company.

Within two minutes, Alex Karp took the entire frontier AI industry apart on national television.

His exact words:

"Every single enterprise in this country, these people are LIVID. They are paying for tokens that create no value. These people are stealing the weights and alpha of my business."

He literally said the entire frontier AI business model is intellectual property extraction dressed up as a subscription.

Then he also destroyed the pricing model with a single question that Silicon Valley still refuses to answer:

"If it was so valuable, let's say I can make you $1 billion tomorrow. Wouldn't I say I'll make you $1 billion and I want 30 percent? Why are they charging for tokens if it's so valuable?"

That question breaks the industry.

If OpenAI and Anthropic's models truly delivered the productivity gains the labs claim, they would take equity or a share of the profit they generate. They would not sell access by the million tokens.

Token pricing is itself the CONFESSION that the product cannot produce reliable value at scale. If it did, they would price for the value. But they price for the compute because that is what they are actually selling.

Karp went even further...

He called the entire arrangement "a wealth tax that does not help the poor. It just punishes."

American businesses are transferring the alpha of their operations, meaning the workflows, the customer data, the strategy memos, the internal models that make them competitive, directly into the training pipelines of a handful of Silicon Valley labs. Once those labs retrain, the customer's own edge becomes the next enterprise product sold back to their competitors.

And the part the AI industry does not want anyone thinking about:

Every enterprise running its confidential documents, its customer conversations, and its financial models through a frontier model is potentially teaching that model HOW to replace them.

The vendor collects the token fee AND the compounding intelligence about that customer's business. That is the mechanism. And that is why Karp used the word "stealing."

He claims this is why every executive he meets is furious in private and silent in public. Nobody wants to be the CEO who called out the labs and then discovered their next competitor was built on their own leaked workflows.

The entire AI industry has been priced for perfection on one assumption:

That frontier labs produce durable, defensible value that justifies infinite compute spend.

But Karp just told us that the customers do not believe that assumption anymore. They believe they are being taxed without benefit, watched without consent, and copied without recourse.

The moment enterprises stop believing, the whole valuation stack shakes.

This is why people built guillotines.
GOP Rep. Troy Nehls, when asked about 60% of Americans struggling with affordability: "Affordability? What are you talking about?... I'm gonna get me a couple of big lobster tails. I'm gonna get me some nice rib eyes... Maybe the 60% of Americans don't work as hard as I do."

@james_xond This horribly unethical decision supercharged the rise of the US oligarchy.

The US government was always influenced by wealth and power, but after Citizens United they don't even pretend to work for the American people.

The DOJ has ONE WEEK left to charge Anthony Fauci for the worst cover-up in modern medical history.

He lied to Congress about funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan. Millions died. Trillions were spent. And Fauci walked away with book deals and fawning media coverage instead of handcuffs. I re-upped my criminal referral to the DOJ because the evidence is overwhelming, and justice has been delayed long enough.

RT if you’re ready to see Fauci behind bars.

@JackLombardi_ii @joekent16jan19 I’m wondering if the real angle here is China. The US government just can’t come out and say it.

Corporation: "We made $4B but spent $3.9B so we only owe taxes on $100M."
Government: "Totally reasonable."

You: "I made $60K but spent $58K on survival."
Government: "You owe taxes on $60K."
You: "That's not—"
Government: "File by May 15."

This. Is. Terrifying.

This technology should NEVER be allowed to be used.

Ford can fvck right off and so can the Congress members who voted to put this tech in vehicles starting in 2027.

Hypothetically…….. We are being taxed on money we never made.

Let that sink in.

If I bought my property outright for $160,000 in 2009
Now the county says it’s worth $446,000.
Did I sell it? No.
Did I make a profit? No.
Did I get a check for $446,000? No.
But my taxes jumped like I did.
That’s the problem.
This isn’t income.
This isn’t cash.
This is a number someone decided on paper and now I’m being billed for it.

If my stock portfolio doubles, I don’t pay taxes until I sell.

If my income doesn’t increase, I don’t magically owe more income tax.

So why does owning a home work differently?

Why am I being taxed on unrealized gains?

A house isn’t just an investment, it’s where people live. And this system means you can do everything right, pay off your home, and still get squeezed harder every year because of a number you never turned into money.

You don’t truly own something if you can be taxed out of it.

This isn’t about “services” or “inflation.” It’s about being charged for value you never received.
It’s time people start to notice.

[calsam75 @CalamiaSam3]

@elonmusk Not saying I agree with the tax the rich crowd but I have something to say.

Maybe if the corporations hadn’t chipped away at the middle class for the last 40 years the working class wouldn’t be yelling about taxing and or eating the rich.

Think about it. 🤔
