@robprogressive The concept of taxing the rich is not related to income tax. The rich do not grow their wealth through PAYE income.
The target is top 1% of wealth, not top 1% of income.
@Unlucky_Dude2@Butterheart886 Black Rock have put in endless effort, in country, to engage with the community & government and likewise to secure their funding.
ACP is one bloke in Australia who doesn't seem that interested.
Well at least I can finally take #ACP off the watchlist. ๐
My biggest loss on the AIM - so far! A reminder never to believe in a story too strongly, and get out if things start going the wrong way.
Anyone got any guaranteed 20 baggers so I can make my money back?
@kopcorner@boomer_ish Pretty much all gas produced in the North Sea is piped onshore and sold to the domestic UK market.
Gas is much more difficult to transport than oil (requires liquification - LNG) so markets tend to be regional rather than global. LNG has impacted this a bit but not much.
@Monz_ah Meanwhile energy companies are being subjected to a windfall tax for 75% of their profits.
Both are guilty of benefitting from a high price environment, the difference being that Tesco are in control of their prices.
Windfall tax for supermarkets seems fair to me.
@Monz_ah The ยฃ3.7B of taxes they "collect" is not Tesco paying tax, it's their customers paying tax on their products and their staff paying tax on their wages.
Most of the ยฃ1.7B of tax they "pay" is part of their costs. They paid 20% corporation tax on their profits, ยฃ123m.
@imposhster101 @implausibleblog So absolutely naff all, then? Especially when compared to the 75% tax that O&G producers currently pay for making similar UK profits (in the case of Shell/BP).
@ste_ph_en__ @terrynutkins100 @andy_smith86@jimhamilton4 He was about to give the disallowed try without going to the TMO until the line judge forced him into it.
He was clearly reluctant to send every decision upstairs, which I don't necessarily disagree with, but the whole "he must have seen it grounded" argument is bollocks.
@Dave17241325 @Tigster_monster@ollie_hubbard29@lynchit@SixNationsRugby@Scotlandteam No-one was on their feet and over the ball. Bielle-Biarrey (red scrum cap) tried, but had too much momentum and went straight over the top.
In an interview, LBB said himself he tripped over himself which prevented him from joining the ruck properly.
