@B3S7_ My brain: recycled fabric, good! ... But then - was it separated by material type? Would it pass flammability standards for safety? Was the material appropriately pre-washed? Shouldn't it be better sectioned off so that fibers can't reach through? So I get it.
The robotics stuff reminds me of the Hero jr we had in the house when I was a kid. (It wasn't new. No idea how the guy we got it from got it himself). It happily rolled around til a wire fell loose and it burned itself to death. I still miss the poor thing.
At 9am every Sunday morning, someone goes to the bell tower in the church across the street and rings out the hour by hand. It reminds me of when I was young, and the world had more of these temporal, somatic, human driven rituals. The future doesn't have to erase these things.
@paraschopra It's why it's easier to just be an animist in all of this. And if consciousness is a field, it's one that can be shared. Maybe it always needs to be. A person thinking alone in a vacuum is untestable anyway.
@Dakshay@Yuchenj_UW@bcherny I'm totally unconnected other than I just started poking at esp32s (with zero experience, can't code my way out of a paper bag) but cause my algo decided I needed to see this post I'm here. Saw those online and was tempted to buy one π
So I bought a couple of ESP32 boards and found a hobby I would be bad at. Poking companion AIs as I am worried that by the time I'm in an old age home I'll be cared for by robots who might glitch out and keep me trapped in the shower room for 4 hours. π€£
While waiting for a package from Aliexpress and thinking on the nature of pain, my brain mashed two things together and created Shenzhen Young, and now I keep thinking of rediculous sayings about waiting on courier updates
