@SemiCartamatic@SoonerVirginia@RedditCFB You asked what they are supposed to do in that situation. I say pull up and not launch at his head while he is sliding - now you say it’s a routine tackle to launch downwards at a sliding qb. Not sure if you could accept being wrong, so we can just move forward lol
@BrettKollmann@Nickolah84 Would the committee still care considering it was week 2, they are only 1 spot behind and would have a win over a top 2 team if they beat Georgia? Oklahoma doesn’t deserve to be in over Texas, so why would Texas deserve it over bama?
@SemiCartamatic@SoonerVirginia@RedditCFB I don’t think you understand how easy it is to see he’s sliding - you can see it from 3 yards away he’s dropping. Pretending like this was unavoidable contact helmet to helmet is laughable. They obviously could have pulled up but didn’t - each team was chippy all game
@SemiCartamatic@SoonerVirginia@RedditCFB You can see the defender launch downwards at the head of the qb, it is easily possible to not do that in that time. If he runs straight without stopping he can jump 10 inches and not hit him helmet to helmet
@SemiCartamatic@SoonerVirginia@RedditCFB Fake slides are no longer legal, so the second they see him start sliding they are supposed to pull off instead of gunning for his head lol
@SidPiddlesAU @lyellwalk @quinnbear_@BarstoolAlabama If you wouldn’t win the natty while the other team did, you are not better. You maybe have a better resume - but not the better team. The original tweet was asking about who’s the better team.
@SidPiddlesAU @lyellwalk @quinnbear_@BarstoolAlabama I agree auburn didn’t care about the ucf game, but no way auburn had a shot at winning the natty in 2017 - Alabama did win it. Auburn that year went 1-1 with Georgia, and also had a loss to clemson early in the year (also a loss to lsu in the middle). Bama beat all of them
@SidPiddlesAU @lyellwalk @quinnbear_@BarstoolAlabama After that iron bowl (at auburn) Auburn went on to lose their bowl game to UCF while bama went on to win the natty against the Georgia team auburn lost to in the sec championship. A rivalry win doesn’t make you the better overall team (like OU vs Texas this year)
There is only one rookie over the last 40 years to lead a game-winning drive starting in the final 2 mins of regulation in back-to-back games.
His name is C.J. Stroud
@reedgilbert11 @PatrickStormHTX We have won the last 2 weeks BECAUSE of him leading the last drives - expecting any qb to be perfect and hating them when they aren’t is just greedy and unrealistic expectations. He threw 1 pick today and missed maybe 3 throws.
@reedgilbert11 @PatrickStormHTX Hating stroud when he led 2 game winning drives back to back weeks is an interesting strategy - 2 ints on the year, and won games that the Texans would never have even competed in last year. If you don’t like him for personal reasons that’s fine, but he’s a great football player!
@maseeh4alum@bigD15@RedditCFB Ooooo this is interesting, I still imagine Alabama jumping Texas after beating Georgia, but pac12 being left out after how good they’ve looked would be chaotic and fun
@maseeh4alum@bigD15@RedditCFB I think if they beat Georgia in the sec championship, who will probably be ranked 1 or 2 at that point, the committee will have them jump Texas. Fans will be upset because of the head to head but I think most people see how different the Alabama team is after beating Georgia
@TrentMcquarrie @JeffHaseley@PatMcAfeeShow@KirkHerbstreit As a Texans fan… thielen would be our wr3 if not 4 counting Shultz, and Thielen is the wr1 there with like triple the targets of the next guy. We have such a better receiving core with collins, tank, Shultz and even Noah brown
