The gap is widening fast than ever. The “anyone can win” phase of the MLB is long over. Bottom tier owners absolutely should spend more, but at the same time they absolutely should be given an even playing field to compete. Right now, it’s anything but even.

Don’t let anyone tell you there isn’t a payroll issue. Both sides are equally as greedy, they both want the maximum amount of money humanly possible and they do not care about you or I. We should not be defending either side. Salary limits on both ends would enhance the game for fans and make the league better as a whole.
