81 days for District 81
Day 1
I’m Caleb Donahue, and I’m running to be the next State Representative in the 81st. I’m a commonsense Democrat looking to bring real and local solutions, not the partisan fighting that prevents real progress in our communities. (1/2)
I’ll vote to create strict caps on prescription drug prices that protects everyday folk across Huntingdon and Northern Franklin Counties. Having to decide on buying groceries or spending on essential care should never be a choice. 2/2

Day 70
Our local paychecks have been struggling, & it doesn’t help when the costs of prescriptions are rising higher than ever before. Many are forced to ration life-saving medication like insulin because drug monopolies want to benefit from greed. 1/2
I’d spend a minute to double check your polling place, request a mail in ballot if you haven’t already, and make a plan for who to vote for. Let’s all make sure we are ready to vote come November 3rd! 2/2

Day 69
We already have less than two weeks until the election. Now that the voter registration deadline has passed, the best way for making sure you are prepared is to plan how and when to cast your ballot. 1/2
It was really windy out on the airfield, but keeping the tent and campaign signs on the ground to connect is what representation should be like. Our local communities need a representative who will always be on the ground connecting directly to the people. 2/2

Day 68
I had a great time this past weekend at the Fall for Mount Union Fest. Setting up shop and talking with local voters all day at our voter registration table is always my favorite part about running. 1/2
A night like this requires so much coordinating with all the fire crews, schools, law enforcement and volunteers. Seeing all of Huntingdon show up for a wonderful tradition is what makes the 81st a great place to live. 2/2

Day 67
Stood out on my front porch to watch the Huntingdon Halloween Parade along Washington Street. It’s so great seeing the massive turnout as well as watching the fire trucks, bands, and floats moving along. 1/2
I support changing the House rules to guarantee that every bill is given an opportunity to be voted on by the committee and then the full House. If a bill has broad support across the chamber, it deserves to be voted on by all 203 members. 2/2

Day 66
The party leaders in the PA House have too much power. Right now, the majority leaders can prevent any bill from being voted on. If there is a bill passed out of committee, a single person can prevent it from having a vote by all members. 1/2
Making sure you are registered is the best way you are prepared for this election. Heading over to https://t.co/lJJhHQgsA4 is a great way to register, check your registration, and see your polling place. Make your plan now! 2/2

Day 65
Heads up! This Monday is the deadline to register to vote. If you just moved, turned eighteen, or need to change party, you need to submit your application by October 19th. 1/2
If I’m elected, my schedule will always be open and make sure that every meeting i have that could impact my constituents is fully transparent. We need a lawmaker that answers to the people, and I’ll keep our neighbors informed early.

Day 64
Being a representative shouldn’t be about staying behind closed doors. I believe in making sure everyone in the 81st has the right to know everything that is being discussed, and my commitment is to bring transparency for our rural communities. 1/2
We can have real results be made through having both sides of the political bases come together to find what works best for our communities. I believe in cooperation instead of division and that Harrisburg needs an honest and open government. 2/2

Day 63
Representation is never about picking a side in politics. No legislation is ever perfect, but we need someone who is always focused on finding commonsense compromise with both sides in order to move forward. 1/2
Unfortunately, legislators on both sides stalled on creating regulatory measures. With the deadline passed, local establishments are scrambling. I support strong regulations to protect our small businesses & get things done across both sides of the aisle.

Day 62
I’m not a fan of skill games as they lead to addiction, but abolishing them isn’t the way to go. These devices provided revenue for local businesses, fire halls, & VFWs. They should be treated like slot machines, but they shouldn’t be abolished.
Whether or not you vote for me, it is very important to plan how you are going to vote. Let’s all show up and make a plan how to vote, whether by mail or in person, before its too late! 2/2

Day 61
I just got my mail ballot this morning! I went straight ahead and dropped it off at the Bailey Building. Voting early is the best way of making sure your vote is counted for this November. 1/2
