Getting the opportunity to play Gonzaga at home every single year? You can count on one hand programs that would be better to have home games against.

On top of that, we get to continue our amazing rivalry with San Diego State. Compete with really great/good programs in Boise State and Colorado State.

This move to play in this Pac-12 basketball league may be the biggest thing to ever happen to Utah State athletics. If not the top, it is top three for sure.

President Oaks dropped a quote in this video today that stopped me in my tracks. I think every Latter-day Saint should hear it. He said:

“When we come to the temple, we come to a place which is dedicated exclusively for the service of the Lord. And as a result, the Spirit of the Lord is stronger here than any other building except a well-functioning home.”

Latter-day Saints view the temple as the singular place on earth that gets us closest to God and the Spirit.

But President Oaks teaches us here that the Spirit of the Lord can be felt even stronger in a well-functioning home. What a powerful and motivating principle.

May we all strive to make our homes Houses of the Lord where His Spirit can freely abide.

I built a way to save America a whole lot of money.

A patient of mine needs a mastectomy with tissue expander reconstruction, so we called a hospital’s price transparency line to ask for an estimate before surgery.

The quote? $430,000.

Then I sat down and estimated what it would cost to perform that exact same operation at Redbud Surgery Center.

About $17,000.
This is exactly why I believe independent outpatient surgery centers are part of the future of healthcare.

When physicians are empowered to build efficient, patient-centered facilities, we can often provide the same high-quality care in a setting that is more affordable, more transparent, and designed around the patient experience.

Healthcare doesn’t have to be this expensive.

Competition works. Transparency works. Innovation works.

If we want to lower healthcare costs in America, we don’t have to lower the quality of care. We simply have to start supporting models that deliver excellent outcomes without unnecessary overhead.

There are solutions. We just have to be willing to build them.
