2026 will be a hard year to top. I have a successful business with Monsoon that turns 10 years old this July. Rhonda and I will be celebrating 15 years of marriage this September. Yesterday I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with an Interdisciplinary Human Sciences degree. Our family took in 3 incredible brothers from foster care that we are on track to adopt at the end of this year. Bringing our family up to 8 children! I will be beginning my Masters degree at Texas Tech in the fall in Family Consumer Sciences Education. I am leaving tomorrow to Dallas to complete my training and become a licensed TBRI practitioner that will continue to train foster, kinship, and adoptive parents, teachers, and child workers in trauma informed care through our work with Gethsemane Foster Initiative.
As I walked across the arena yesterday to receive my diploma, all I could think about was Gods faithfulness and perfect leadership. 2026 is proof that God can take a simple yes from a normal man and build an incredible story. Our life is full of chaos and joy, laughter and labor, His faithfulness mixed with our obedience. He is so good and I am truly the wealthiest man that I know.
@suganthan It’s actually falling in my pocket. Thrusters activate. My children and wife watch in horror as I Looney Tunes balloon around our kitchen. *chefs kiss*
@RedRaiderLex I want his success incredibly bad but it seems like he’s a 2 catch ghost. Makes a great catch early in the first then evaporates into nothingness.
@mdlemar@TexasTechFB@JoeyMcGuireTTU It’s the beautiful piece about Texas, it’s big enough for differing beliefs. I’m sorry you felt attacked enough to need the anonymity. We may not see eye to eye politically, but I’d gladly root for the success of any fellow alum. Go Tech!
It’s a two edged sword and I’ll take the downside that comes with it. His intense loyalty is what drives this team and proves that they are family, no matter what happens. It’s also what can cause moments where (from the outside) we stand by players and staff too long.
Love it or hate it, Joey is gonna be Joey and squeeze every drop of character and growth mentality out of his team. He deeply loves these guys and their families. I’ll take the downside that loyalty brings 100 times out of 100. It’s worth it in the unseen parts of our program and drives our success.
@mdlemar@TexasTechFB@JoeyMcGuireTTU Marla, all due respect, the lack of profile picture makes you fit into the burner account narrative. It’s most likely your real name, I’m a graduate myself (currently in grad school). Most of the strongest voiced opinions on Joey are from burner accounts.
