He doesn’t have a home right now. And his dad was murdered in front of him. He is 4. I can’t solve his problems, but I can help him be a kid for a weekend. Don’t shy away from helping just because you can’t solve the problem. Everything big starts somewhere small.

Soon, I will be headed to LA to pursue my dream of acting…
My acting journey has not been a traditional one. It really started with public speaking. I gave my first speech in middle school and was immediately hooked. Over the next 8 years, I would travel the country and hone my craft, learning to use my voice to tell an important story. A story that usually revolved around one idea - “everything big starts somewhere small.”
When I started at the University of Michigan, I had no idea what I wanted to do, but it felt like film was a major that would allow me to continue storytelling. Of course, the little voice in the back of my head, the one that was responsible for telling my parents what I planned to do, influenced me to pick a second major. I went with the most responsible sounding degree I could find that didn’t require me to take physics: economics.
Of all the lessons I learned at Michigan: there’s no such thing as an easy A, get to football games early, don’t step on the M…the most important lesson was that my true passion, the thing that makes me feel alive, is acting.
Over the course of 4 years at UMich, I would act in more than 30 films (including 2 feature length independent films) and become part of the most talented, supportive group of people I’ve ever met. I feel beyond fortunate to be part of this network of actors, directors, writers, producers, singers, and dancers who are as supportive as they are talented. In an industry known for being cutthroat, we are all genuinely excited for each other’s successes.
And now it’s time…to use the skills I’ve aquired and make my family - both the one I was born into and the one I have been accepted into - proud.
I know there’s a chance I’ll fail, but nothing great comes without taking a risk.
Thank you to every single person I’ve met on this journey. I cannot wait to see what you all do!
