Today, not only Ukrainians' fate is at stake - but also the fate of the democratic, rules-based international order. The world is tested, whether it will allow violation of sovereignty. We express our support to #Ukraine and its people, with this memory from over a century ago:
14.02.1919: February 14 is a special day. 103 years ago, Republic of independent Georgia held elections of the Founding Assembly and called upon everyone to participate in the elections.
13.02.1919: Towards the end of 1918, Georgian press was full of news regarding oil shortage - the situation has turned around in 1919, as the prices started to drop.
09.02.1919: Chichinadze has been permanently travelling Adjara since the 90-ies of XIX century, publishing many books about Adjara & Muslims of Georgia (only small portion listed here). In 1919, Zakaria spoke of necessity to renew publishing: existing copies were out of stock.
08.02.1919: Disinformation is not a new political tool. 103 years ago, Colonel Leo Kereselidze had to personally debunk the rumors through a newspaper:
