Rumors are the Big 10 is waiting on the SEC to make a move regarding conference realignment. While these two conferences play chicken I think the Big 12 and ACC are preparing for action. The winner between the ACC and Big 12 will live to see another day as the P3. The loser will fall out of the power conferences like the Pac 12. Big 12 has the edge.
The 24 team CFP debate has caused a delay in some realignment action as conferences want a firm understanding of the finances at play. ADs and Coaches though have recently expressed they want a 24 team CFP, including some in the SEC. So it is possible that issue may resolve soon.
I keep hearing June could be big. But I hate setting dates because they always change or something new causes a delay. But time is running out as we approach deadlines for schools and conferences to make things official in time for the media rights negotiations.
The most remarkable thing is that Wake Forest is receiving power conference money at all. Perhaps 5,500 undergrads, maybe the sixth most popular athletic program in North Carolina. Middling football at best. One NCAA hoop bid in ten years.
$43,000,000. It’s a near miracle.

“I can tell you without hesitation that UConn is still very much on the radar long term of the Big 12, and it wouldn't shock me if the Huskies got a phone call from the Big 12, the Big Ten, or the ACC.”
