@RepPatHarrigan No household would survive being run like the government is run.
And if someone did spend this irresponsibly, they'd find themselves on the street. Then that same government would tell them "tough s***, no assistance for you. Too expensive and you were irresponsible."
We can’t survive without bees.
We can’t survive without forests.
We can’t survive without healthy oceans.
We can’t survive without clean rivers.
We can’t survive without fertile soil.
And somehow…
we still act as if humans exist separately from nature.
@Cat5SMASHICANE This is some real Darwinism here.
I keep bees. I am assounded.
What did you think they were going to do when you destroyed their home?
PS - You can't outrun bees.
@MPelletierCIO Oh it sinks in. There is just an unbridled fear of what happens if you run out of money because there sure as hell isn't much safety for seniors in this country
@krassenstein Stop making it sound like it's just like showing a driver's license because it's not!
I show my driver's license to vote in Texas.
Olive Garden doesn't require a passport or birth certificate or divorce papers showing a name change.
@Eva_eva_P@Jim_Jordan Exactly, which IDs. I show my DL to vote in TX.
Just ran into issue w TX comptroller. Although I changed my name for EVERYTHING after divorce 19 yrs ago, because this one thing was initiated with my married name, have to jump through a million hoops to change it. 19 yrs ago!
Nobody wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants Al in every app. Nobody wants a robot butler. Nobody wants data centers everywhere. Nobody wants flying cars or humanoid robots. We want clean water, we want bees to survive, and we want a habitable planet.
@TheTNHoller@MarshaBlackburn@GovBillLee Texas is building 248 new data centers on top of the 330 already in operation in the state. A state that is being hit hard by climate change and struggles for water and a functioning electrical grid.
@sweetcsdesigns She had diahrea most likely because she was experiencing heat stroke. Body's response is to expel anything it can from the inside in an effort to cool itself.
I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
PROPERTY TAXES IN AMERICA HAVE GONE TOO FAR.
My parents paid off their house in 2005.
They are in their 70s.
They still write a $11,000 check to the county every single year just to keep living in it.
That makes no sense.
At some point owning a home should actually mean owning it.
This kind of burden is rare outside the U.S.
