I don't think I've ever been this confused about how to feel after a Giants game.
Big Blue tied with the Commanders 27-27 yesterday in what was easily one of the strangest games I've watched as a fan.
When you really think about how the game played out, it's hard to know whether the Giants should feel lucky or disappointed. They were down by two scores for most of the second half, but if Skattebo doesn't fumble in OT, they have a chance to win it with a field goal. Then there's the play where Jayden Daniels stayed in bounds with no timeouts left, costing Washington a chance to win. Just a bizarre game all around.
As the day went on, I actually became more satisfied with the tie, especially since the Cowboys and Eagles both lost. The Giants are still in sole possession of first place in the NFC East through five weeks.
Now, I don't think Zvada would've automatically made that potential game winning field goal, especially considering the day he was having. He finished just 2/5 on field goal attempts and missed some crucial kicks. That being said, he's still a rookie, and the weather conditions were far from ideal. I still have plenty of faith in him and fully expect him to bounce back.
I thought Jameis Winston was horrible in the first half, but man did he make up for it in the second. Isaiah Likely seems to have become his safety blanket, just like he was for Dart earlier in the season. Winston and Nabers also seem to have a really good connection.
The Giants did manage to sack Jayden Daniels five times, but also allowed him to rush for over 100 yards and two TDs.
The GMEN face the Saints next week at MetLife, and I'm really hoping they can get off to a better start. They've dug themselves into holes the past two weeks and can't keep doing that.
Ties really are the weirdest feeling. Still not sure how to feel about this one, but I'll definitely take being in first place after five weeks.
Go Big Blue 🔵
