still don’t understand what’s so special about Elon Musk’s money that his $1 trillion dollars would solve every problem on earth, but the $7 trillion dollars the US government spends annually hardly solves the problems in America
Just to remind these same folk:
You’ve not lifted 1/2m kids out of poverty. You’ve just moved them over a bureaucratic line on a Whitehall spreadsheet.
Your ‘workers rights’ are destroying entry-level jobs, hitting young people disproportionately, where unemployment is now over 16%.
You have not transformed the NHS. It’s still the same old wheezing leviathan, just with a lot more dosh and still dismal productivity.
And you’ve nationalised steel and rail before. It was not the prelude to an economic or industrial miracle. Plus you will now have to include their demands for capital/subsidies among all the other priorities already crowding in on the public purse.
Other than that your reminder was useful. Thank you.
@EssexPR I respect everyone’s right to vote for whoever they wish. But that doesn’t make it any easier to understand. How anyone can still vote for Labour is genuinely beyond me.
Usually a government unit coerces bereaved families to say something politicians can exploit, such as "She would not want her death to cause further division".
If you look at the case of Henry Nowak, Keir Starmer used a phrase like this to try to silence criticism of him, to attack his political enemies, and to condemn protesters. (He conveniently ignored other parts of the statement made by Henry Nowak's father, which criticised the police and called for scrutiny.)
Siobhan Whyte shows how much Keir Starmer cares about "the wishes of the family" when the family's wishes can't be used by him as a political weapon.
Banning YouTube for teenagers is obviously nuts. Clearly no one is using TikTok for educational purposes but YouTube is for everything! Why the hell would you try to stop 14 year olds accessing guitar tutorials? History documentaries? News clips?
This mean students up to Year 11 will not be able to revise GCSE biology on Freesciencelessons YouTube channel.
This also mean a 15 years and 364 days old not be able to read Facebook posts from their MP or councillor, but expected to vote for them tomorrow.
Elon could literally solve homelessness tomorrow.
All he needs to do is sell his stake in the companies he created from the ground up, crashing the price and evaporating his wealth as well as the savings and pensions of workers globally.. handing the control of these companies over to short term profit interests and preventing any long term vision from being enacted..
THEN take whatever money that remains which will be nowhere near 1tn and give it to homeless charities who have never solved homelessness anywhere on earth because they’re financially incentivised to do the opposite.
Bam - homelessness solved.
The reason he doesn’t do any of this is because he’s evil.
@ToonDazza Love this, thank you ❤️ I despise the England-Scotland rivalry/resentment. If England are playing in a tournament (or Wales or NI) then I’m their biggest cheerleader. We have many enemies, so let’s be friends 🏴🏴🇬🇧
It's mad that yesterday a Pakistani man stabbed a 17-year-old girl in the neck in the middle of the street in Britain - and it barely even registered in the news or on social media.
The frog has been so effectively boiled that it's just background noise.
People are so indoctrinated that for every person who finds this appalling there are twenty leftists with boilerplate excuses - "white men commit crime too", "Statistically it's never been safer!" "It's because Tories closed the youth clubs" "Stop causing division." "This is being exploited by the far right."
