It's easy to shout about your budget being cut - but there's more to it.
R&D is like a bath. If you keep turning the tap on and off, you end up sitting in cold water.
Remember ODA cuts? It was about more than money. It's a similar argument now.
Life sciences is one of the crown jewels of the British economy.
This landmark agreement will not only drive forward work that will boost our health, but will also fire up our economy, delivering the growth we need to invest further in health and to push up living standards.

The ABPI has set out the measures the UK’s life sciences industry wants to see in Chancellor @Jeremy_Hunt's Budget on 6 March.

Speaking about medicine shortages at this afternoons @CommonsHealth ABPI’s Rick Greville discussed how medicines manufacturers work hard to prevent and overcome any disruption to supply, but occasional shortages are unavoidable.
In general, the medicine supply chain is remarkably resilient, with the government, industry and the NHS working closely to support uninterrupted access to the medicines people need.
