Yโall! Iโm so excited for my keynote on April 14th @railsconf. I wonโt be repeating this talk at other conferences and the format / style is different from my previous talks. If you donโt yet have a ticket get on that.
Amazing speaker โค
She spoke about branding your way to your dream career and about branding on social media, she said and I quote "post as if your next employer is watching"
It got to me, it really did ๐ค

hello! I'd like to convince you to submit a talk to !!Con, the conference I organize! The deadline is April 8 https://t.co/EX2tpExQ83
Talks are 10 minutes, all proposals are anonymous, and we pay all of our speakers.
Here's a thread I did last year with examples of past talks!
๐. Ditto to racial diversity. If a speaker lineup looks nothing like the real world, that is a catastrophic failure that needs to be investigated and undone before announcing. "None applied" isn't an explanation, it's a symptom and a smell.
Come to my next keynote: Systems Thinking for Developers. It's at @Liferay DEVCON on March 9th, and it's free.
Register here: https://t.co/vnMj0z1bpc , and bring questions to the Q&A part please!
Due to inclement weather around the U.S. causing extensive power outages, we have extended the CFP deadline by 24 hours.
Hopefully this takes some burden off any would-be speakers if they find themselves without internet access tonight.

Conference audiences are always rooting for you as a speaker. They want you to succeed. If you fumble, if you're nervous, if you forget how your sentence was going to end, if you make an error, they will root for you. Because community supports people who are brave and generous.
Getting to have direct feedback on talk proposals? Much appreciated. Interesting twist: @introseccon talks are meant to focus on teaching introductory security topics. Get those proposals in!
Are you new to speaking or unsure about submitting to our CFP? We encourage you to do it!
We have some excellent mentors lined up to help newer speakers with their talks!
We also intend to give direct feedback about CFP submissions!

Was having a chat with a fellow woman in tech around being paid as a speaker, and I remembered this speaker rider I found from @cassidoo
Wanted to share again incase it helps anyone else! https://t.co/7QMtIGMykV
Hey folks! I havenโt posted about this much because Iโve been head down writing the actual talk, but Iโm talking about API design at #linuxconfau ONE WEEK FROM TODAY ๐ itโs all online and tickets are still available! https://t.co/ioFBoxGgwT
Are you thinking about giving a talk, tutorial, or poster #pycon? Speakers of all experience levels & backgrounds are welcome to contribute to our conference program! The call for proposals deadline is February 12, 2021. Don't wait-submit your talk today! https://t.co/guoYSTuPA6
Organizers, don't let up. Notice who's still underrepresented in our industry and underrepresented at podiums. Intersectional, especially: racism + sexism work together to exclude WoC from being heard and heeded. Transmisogyny. Ableism. Ageism. Classism. Keep opening doors wider.
Who is newer to speaking and trying to do more speaking engagements this year?
Drop what you *love* to speak about. Seasoned speakers, letโs use this list to make some recommendations and get new folks on stage!
