So today I was to go to the airport to confirm a flight booking for a friend. I got dressed and when I stepped out, I decided to book a Bolt ride.
In less than 5 minutes the driver arrived and I was surprised when I discovered that it was a pregnant woman who was the bolt driver.
She was heavily pregnant. Her stomach was big. She looked like she was 8 months pregnant already.
I stood there staring at her for a while.
"Are you the bolt driver?"
"Yes."
"I looked at her and turned to enter the car."
"Buckle up your seat belt, sir."
I buckled up.
She began to drive.
Calmly.
"This is my first time seeing a heavily pregnant woman doing bolt service."
She smiled.
"Yes. I have heard that over 5 times today since morning. Everyone looks surprised."
"Yes. It is surprising. I won't bother if you were not pregnant. But you are pregnant. At this stage, I feel like I should be the one driving you."
She laughed.
"I am fine. It is my Job to offer my services."
"How long have you been driving?"
She smiled.
"Since I became pregnant."
"Are you serious? And oga allowed you?"
"My husband is crippled. He became crippled last year after he was involved in an accident."
I was silent for some seconds.
She turned to me and smiled.
"You speechless?"
"I am. I didn't expect that response. I am sorry."
"It is fine Jarey. We had this car parked at home. So since he can't drive it out anymore or go to work, I decided to stand up and do the work to put food on the table."
I became emotional as she spoke.
"He did it for me and took care of me before his accident. Now that he is not able to do it anymore, I believe it is my duty to do it for him too and our unborn child."
I nodded and smiled.
"Thank you for supporting him. He must be very lucky."
She smiled.
"He is. But I am lucky too."
From the way she spoke about her husband, I could tell the man treated her very well when he was still strong and able.
Today when he is down, she took it upon herself to take care of him too.
Men, be good to your wives. Love them genuinely. Respect them. Treat them with kindness while you are strong enough to do so.
Because the love you sow into a woman's heart today may become the strength she uses to carry you tomorrow. Only a woman who was loved well, will stand by you in your time of struggles.

Jim Iyke is the first man and first celebrity to admit he was at fault in his marriage. 😁
He described himself as an “excellent father but a woeful husband.”
According to him, he lost his spark and interest in the marriage, and his wife suffered because of it. He said he became so emotionally invested in being a father that he unintentionally neglected his wife.
“I lost my spark, and my wife suffered for it. Then I became an obsessive dad. I gave everything in me, my love and attention to my son and left her behind. I was changing diapers, being the proper stay-at-home dad.
I became an excellent father but a woeful husband, and after a while, she said, ‘I can’t find the man I married anymore.’
I told her, ‘I don’t know what it would take for me to heal and become myself again, but if you want to wait for me, I’d appreciate it. And if you can’t, I would also understand.’
She said she couldn’t, so we shook hands and parted as friends.”

Today 19-05-2026 is not a regular
I was going through the darkest period of my marriage. My husband became cold, stopped providing for the house, and started spending money on another woman while his own children lacked food.
One night, I was crying in the kitchen over an empty pot when my mother-in-law quietly walked in. She didn’t insult me or ask questions. Instead, she gave me her personal savings, which she had been keeping for months for her business.
She said: “My daughter, wipe your tears. As long as I’m alive, you and my grandchildren will never go hungry.”
After I told her everything, Mama stood up for me, confronted her son, and reminded him of his responsibilities. That moment changed my marriage completely.
Today, my husband is responsible, loving, and committed to our family again ❤️
People always talk about wicked mothers-in-law, but mine became the woman God used to save my home.
Have you ever met a genuinely kind and supportive mother-in-law before? 👀
A father said to his son,
"You graduated with honors. Here is a Volkswagen Beetle that I bought many years ago... It is over 50 years old, but before I give it to you, take it to a dealership downtown and ask how much they are offering you."
The son went to the dealership, came back to his father and said,
"They offered me $10,000 because it looks very used."
The father said, "Take it to a pawn shop."
The son went to the pawn shop, came back and said,
"They only offered me $1,000 because they say it is too old."
Finally, the father asked his son to take the car to a classic car club and show it there.
The son took the car to the club, came back and said,
"Some people at the club offered me $100,000! because it is a very rare car and sought after among the members."
The father said to his son, "I wanted you to understand that the right place appreciates you in the right way. If they don't value you, don't be angry, it just means you're in the wrong place.
Those who know your value are the ones who truly appreciate you.
Never stay in a place where they don't recognize your value.

“If you buy 5 litres of fuel every day, this is what you would spend in a year under different administrations. During former President Olusegun Obasanjo, you would spend ₦136,850.
Under late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, ₦118,625; under former President Goodluck Jonathan, ₦158,775; under former President Muhammadu Buhari, ₦355,875.
Now under President Bola Tinubu, if fuel continues to sell at ₦1,300 per litre, the yearly cost for 5 litres daily would rise to ₦2,372,500.
Ask yourself, if a company is spending this much on fuel alone, how much profit are they actually making...?”
- Man compares yearly fuel costs under past presidents, revealing a sharp increase to over ₦2.3m annually under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Aliko Dangote has called for urgent investment in local manufacturing and power infrastructure, stressing that Nigeria must design, fabricate and build what it consumes to achieve true economic independence.
“True economic independence is impossible without technical sovereignty. We must fabricate, design and build what we consume. We will remain the fiercest advocates for local content, which is key.
“Distinguished fellows, our task is urgent. We must build power grids. This power is important; we must build it. I keep repeating, we must build it. Together, let us engineer a Nigeria that works not just for some, but for everyone,” he said.
