Today, a subcommittee on Edinburgh Council chose to IGNORE Granton.

They prioritised a small group of NIMBYs over:

👉 One of Scotland’s most deprived communities

👉 Families moving into the 3,500 new homes

👉 More JOBS for the people of Granton, Muirhouse, and Pilton

👉 Access to Edinburgh College, Craigleith Retail Park & Western General Hospital.

👉 Companies expanding and SCALING.

Local groups want the tram. @tracygilbert wants the tram. Polling shows the PEOPLE of Granton & Edinburgh WANT the tram.

The Council has the power to OVERRULE.

GIVE GRANTON THE TRAM.

@lfg_uk The Roseburn path only exists because there used to be a railway there, but there can't be a light railway there because it's now a path?

It's more beneficial to keep it as a path than reinstate it as light rail?

How about the greater, not minority good? Edinburgh as a whole?

I couldn't agree more. I am sorry but this city and the people of Granton both deserve and need mass transit. Shame on politicians who have given into the nimbyism.

It’s STILL not finished. Only part of the route was ever built.

The rest? SCRAPPED

Next Thursday, councillors will decide whether to finish the tram on land DESIGNED & APPROVED FOR RAIL

@mgtmccartney What do you think of Glasgow's advice to students? Did they ask for your or any of your colleagues input? "You will be asked to take two tests, three days apart. If both of these return a negative result, you will be allowed to travel."
