Now it’s time to hear from our Livestock Guardian Dog Programme Curator, Calum O’Flaherty, on just how vital these dogs are in protecting cheetahs from human–wildlife conflict (HWC).
To place these dogs with farmers, we rely on vital resources and ongoing support. Since 1994, the programme has helped reduce livestock losses by up to 80%, protecting both farmer livelihoods and cheetahs in the wild.
To keep making this impact, we need your help.
From 22–29 April, all donations are matched through the Big Give — meaning you can double your impact.
This is your chance to support a solution that truly works.

You can help protect the future of cheetahs.
One of the biggest threats cheetahs face today is human–wildlife conflict. In Namibia, around 90% of cheetahs live on farmlands, where competition with other predators pushes them closer to livestock, and into conflict with farmers.
While many farmers tolerate some losses, others are forced to take action, often putting cheetahs at risk.
That’s where our Livestock Guardian Dog Programme makes a real difference.
These dogs help protect livestock without harming predators, reducing conflict and allowing cheetahs and communities to coexist.
And right now, you can help us place more dogs and save more cheetahs.
During the Big Give, every donation will be matched.
Donate £10, and it becomes £20.

Just in case you needed a few seconds of Livestock Guarding Dog (LGD) #puppies! While these pups are tiny now, these #dogs will grow up to become a vital part of our frontline #conservation efforts in #Namibia, helping to protect livestock -- and prevent conflicts between humans and wild carnivores.

Happy Easter from all of us at the Cheetah Conservation Fund!
Forget lambs, it’s puppy season here, and we’ve got 24 little cuties on site! These basket-loving pups might be stealing the spotlight, but they’re also part of the important work we do to support farmers and protect wildlife.
Wishing you a joyful Easter filled with new life, hope, and a whole lot of fluff!
Big news from our Livestock Guarding Dog Programme in Namibia 🐾 On 7th March, Misty-Lee welcomed 8 puppies, 5 males and 3 females!
These tiny pups might look cute now, but they represent something much bigger. One day, they’ll grow into working dogs helping farmers protect their livestock, reducing human-wildlife conflict and keeping cheetahs safe.
At just under three weeks old, they’re already thriving. Their eyes are open, they’re starting to explore the world (and their food!), and growing fast, one has already reached 2.5kg!
Each puppy now has a coloured collar, so our team can follow their progress as they grow. We will be naming them soon with your help 👀 (more details to come soon).
In the months ahead, they’ll begin their journey to farms, where they’ll play a vital role in supporting communities and protecting wildlife. 💛🐆
We’ve got a big #surprise planned for Dr. Laurie Marker, our founder and executive director, at the Model Farm in Namibia - involving the #landrover she used more than three decades ago!
Stay tuned to find out if Calum and the team at the Model Farm can pull off the surprise in time!
For decades, Cheetah Conservation Fund’s (CCF) Model Farm in Namibia has been supporting the communities living alongside #cheetahs, fostering coexistence between humans and big carnivores, and helping to protect the ecosystems humans and #wildlife depend on.

Just a few days ago, Himee Kuhanga, Bester Silawa, Kayla Schmitz, and Calum O’Flaherty, attended the Namibian Tourism Festival. Led by Assistant Tourism Manager, Himee, the team spent valuable time connecting with tour operators, building partnerships, and sharing the incredible #tourism and #conservation opportunities offered by the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in #Namibia. The team also attended several inspiring talks throughout the event, sessions that sparked new ideas and reinforced the importance of collaborative conservation in Namibia.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable #travel experience, we invite you to visit our Centre in Namibia! From learning about cheetah conservation to exploring the beautiful landscapes and engaging with our dedicated team, CCF offers a destination that blends outdoor adventure, education, and impact! Just this year, CCF won a Traveler’s Choice award from @Tripadvisor, a designation awarded to consistently strong reviews from travelers (those among the top 10% of all listings).
Come and see firsthand how tourism supports conservation - and how your visit makes a difference!
