“The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.” Psalm 37: 39-40
Continuing our Lenten series on the seven deadly sins and how in Jesus we have victory over sin tonight. Dinner at 5:15 service starts at 6:30. #Lent#Jesus
Mission stories are the greatest stories.
They are r e a l l i f e stories - authored by God Himself.
They are stories of unredeemed, ruined people discovering his love and forgiveness and experiencing the restoration of *new life* with Him.

If you are still recovering from your turkey hangover and missed church this morning come to the point at Calvary at 5 tonight and hear about the word becoming flesh and dwelling among us!
“We are reading and using the Bible rightly only when it humbles us, critiques us, and encourages us with God’s love and grace despite our flaws. “ -@timkellernyc
Don’t forget The Point (our teaching service) is happening Nov 25th at 5! Come hear about who Jesus is and why it matters with an opportunity to ask questions after the service!
In the cross of Christ those who are humbled are exalted. The cross makes it so we don’t earn anything but are given everything in Jesus. Only in this truth can we take our eyes off of ourselves and see the world around us as Jesus sees it.
We don’t need Constantine. We don’t even need religious freedom. We can thank God for it, but we can proclaim the gospel without it. . . . The kingdom of Christ does not need America. Jesus has all authority on heaven and on earth. Do we believe that?

Work done in the belief it is all up to us becomes a joyless, deadly grind. Only those who know that salvation comes by sheer grace, not our efforts, have the inner dynamic of grateful joy that empowers the greatest efforts. So the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Lord, so many of my problems stem from not remembering you. I forget your wisdom and so I worry. I forget your grace and so I get complacent. I forget your mercy and so I get resentful of others. Help me remember who you are every moment of the day. Amen.
