Wayne Gretzky shares the advice he gives to every young athlete.
"The commitment and the work ethic is worth it."
"My dad was a big believer that the harder you work as a kid, the more fun you're going to have as an adult. And the more fun you have as a kid, the harder you're going to work as an adult."
Read that again.
It's one of the truest things ever said about success.
Work now, play later. Or play now and work forever.
"The commitment and the passion for what you're doing is so worth it at the end of the day. Just believe each and every day - it's really, really worth it."
Commitment is a choice. It's choosing long-term growth over short-term comfort.
"I wouldn't trade my life in for anything in the world."
Outcomes and rewards require sacrifice.
The key question is: what price am I willing to pay?

It is an honor to be supported by great players, coaches and community.
Shakopee and Lakeville South. Two communities that are special to me in their own ways. A night I will remember and cherish forever.
Roll Sabers! 🚂 🐾 💯
@TCalauttis Coop has experienced the right combination of success and failure to be in a prime position for continued growth.
Not making the NTDP may have been one of his biggest motivators to date.
A full season of juniors, plus an experience at NoDak should help him round out his game.
🗣️Shakopee’s Cooper Simpson selected by the Boston Bruins in the 3rd round, 79th overall!
➡️Cooper was the MN Hockey Life High School Player of the Year!

These guys are true coaches and competitors. They bring it every single day and they always have a board with them on the bench.
Cully, Fernsy, I love you guys and will miss going to battle with you.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for the Shakopee Boys Hockey program.
From line-mates to opponents…
Fun to see these Saber Boys representing Shakopee so well at the USHL level.

As we turn the page, I want to thank our Seniors for all they have done and given to help honor and grow the game of hockey in Shakopee.
The targets on our back now and yet we still have plenty of work left to do.
So here go again, back to the grind. 💪
Well, this wasn’t just your typical hockey season.
We set big goals every year, but this one felt different.
To be apart of Hockey Day Minnesota is a real honor. But to host the event in your backyard, well that’s a Wild Thing to do. 🎢
