4 days ago, I asked this question👇🏾,
"Why does it seem like a boy child is heavily valued across most cultures?"
Many of the answers revolved around "Carrying the family's name."
While that's true I want to give a detailed breakdown as to why that is.

The way children give themselves importance! 🙌😂
I asked my boys to write down their school requirements:
The one in Senior Five; the lad in whom I’ve lingered all my hopes, handed me a lambent list worth UGX 32,000. Short, sweet, straight. The boy understands that money doesn’t grow on trees.
Then came the P2 General😂… still at a tender age, totipotent: capable of becoming anything/absolutely nothing in this world full of controversy and adversity.
This young idiot confidently presented me with a shopping list worth UGX 900,000! I read it twice to confirm that I hadn’t accidentally picked up the Ugandan national budget.
The boy then took the list back and added a ‘PS 5’ of UGX 2,000,000.
My ancestors tapped out before my own soul left the body 🙌🙌🙌

When they finally open NTV the first news of Akawungezi should entirely be given to Solomon Kaweesi to profile for us all the big people who have died while NTV was closed including our lovely mama.

Inheritance isn’t about cash. Sometimes it’s your father’s name. Imagine walking into any room and hearing, “Your dad was one of the best men I’ve ever known.” That legacy hits different.
