When Jews challenge antisemites it’s not a parlour debate, we fight architects of real violence against us. It’s not a battle of ideas but of safety. And in the melee of self defence occasional blows land below the belt. But the fight is still honourable & necessary. ~ Lee Kern
We note that a meeting between the @guardian newspaper and the @BoardofDeputies is being planned to discuss Mr Rowley’s cartoon and the Guardian’s other potentially #antisemitic commentary in the past. Assuming that the meeting takes place, we and – we are sure - other groups will be monitoring to see if the newspaper’s articles, commentary and cartoons that are published in the future no longer espouse #Jew hatred and delegitimisation of #Israel on distorted pretexts.
If that is the case, then the Board of Deputies must be congratulated.
If it is not, then this latest incident can be held up as evidence that reaching out in goodwill and holding meetings with those who hold negative views about Jews is utterly futile and that, instead, we must call for their removal from public life.

Jew-hate has been renormalised.
At this point, if you’re not awake to this you’re ignorant by choice.
Any Jew that isn’t worried is ignoring what’s going on.
Golda Meir: "If we have to choose between being dead and pitied, and being alive with a bad image, we’d rather be alive and have the bad image.”
True then. True now, still.
