> Fred West killed 12-20 people. No riots.

> 522 murders took place in England and Wales, in the year ending March 2025. No riots.

It's two-tier rioting, isn't it?
This is who Reform UK are putting forward across the country. Line by line, name by name. Read it. Listen to it. Then ask yourself if they are fit to represent anyone.
This is getting silly now. The former synagogue was purchased by Muslims after it had been unused for years, and it is now a mosque.
Whoever did it needs to be brought to justice, but this framing is very telling.
.@ZackPolanski is right, we don't need a wealth tax for public investment, we can do that anyway, but a wealth tax is one tool to help tackle inequality in our society. Zack is also right that we need to raise Capital Gains Tax, & we should always question the bias of economists!
This whole Maccabi Tel Aviv - Aston Villa issue should be a case study in the manipulative use of allegations of antisemitism.
It turns out the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans stemmed from intelligence shared by the European Policing Network to Westmidlands Police regarding the danger posed by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans. It is for this reason that there was a 'high risk' designation because of violent incidents that had occurred elsewhere in Europe perpetrated by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans.
Our Home Secretary was made aware of this ban last week. So, the government has had a whole week to prepare a comprehensive and sensible statement / position regarding the ban. Instead, our political leaders have consciously and deliberately chosen to further a malicious narrative, claiming falsely that this is a case of antisemitism; that Jews in the UK are not safe and cannot be adequately protected if they attend football matches.
All of this is in furtherance of a narrative that pro-Palestine activity is somehow an imminent and serious threat to Jewish communities and the very future of Jewish life in the United Kingdom. This, in turn, is also furthering islamophobic, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian racism and dehumanising narratives about Palestinians and their supporters.
What a complete mess this has become all because our government has no spine and seeks to exploit the sense of insecurity and vulnerability of Jews as a convenient scapegoat.
