Silicon Valley is still sleeping on PHP in a big way
Maybe it's a lack of imagination? Are they struggling to find ways to generate value out of an open source ecosystem that has notoriously demanded "free as in beer"?
The community is huge, vibrant, and hundreds of thousands of businesses run PHP, generating trillions of dollars in value globally (and I'm not just talking about websites that are running on Wordpress)
We're past the era of script kids. With AI, it's possible for anyone to write good, clean code
#PHP and #Laravel are the best tools for building amazing, reliable, performant applications with AI across the stack (server to client)
You can't build what you can build with this stack for cheaper anywhere else
@IanLandsman@ksflyinghigh@ThisIsAlElliott@outrocrew I had to deal with this in our app at work, wrote a little inactivity guard JavaScript handler that looks for actual mouse movement or other use activity to prevent never ending session.
Not to much of a problem on an app that doesn’t have sensitive data, but we’re a health app
I can only repeat myself:
Even if AI writes the code… 🤓
Even if AI helps with the design… 👨🎨
Creating a good application is still hard work.
AI can assist, but you still have to make the decisions, review the work, and shape the final product.
This will not go away.
@iamdavidhill Beautiful 🤩, love the use of what might otherwise have been dead space there with the bench. Must look amazing at night too, do you have any external lighting?
Hey, I'm looking for React/Typescript engineer to join our team at Foremind.
Ideal candidate would be ai native, using / built agents. Worked professionally with React. Built with Laravel.
If you or someone you know would be suitable, shoot me a DM.

@MrPunyapal@LaravelArtisans Depends on what you’ve been doing but switching branches lots & testing lots of stuff, it’s a good habit to ensure a clean data state.
Hate to think on how much time has been lost over the years trying to fix something that was just a result of a dirty local database from dev.
@jasonlbeggs Yeah. Anything else is chaos.
We try to go feature branch, for incremental PR to target if it’s something that needs to be launched as a single feature set.
Flag it so we can turn it on for certain environments & then go live when ready.
Interesting developments!
Have a meeting with the sales team tomorrow morning about Laravel Private Cloud to discuss possible migration of our infra.
Looking forward to hearing about the possibilities…
I've been waiting to share this. Huge updates coming soon to Laravel Cloud over the next few weeks... ☁️
• A new $5/month plan. We want Cloud to be accessible to every Laravel developer. Simple as that.
• Spend caps. Set a spend cap on your account and we'll either alert you or shut off compute when you hit it. No surprise bills.
• True scale-to-zero compute. Hibernation has been around for a while, but we've made wake-up over 10x faster. App, database, and cache wake-up is now measured in milliseconds. Your users won't even notice.
• New bot protection rules keep scale-to-zero apps scaled to zero more of the time, cutting your compute spend even further.
• Fully managed, auto-scaling queues with observability. We've rebuilt "queue clusters" into a new product: "managed queues". Set a max worker count and we handle the rest. Scales on queue depth, scales to zero when idle, so you're never over-provisioned.
Huge thanks to everyone building on Laravel Cloud. Your feedback shaped most of what's above - keep it coming. ❤️
Inertia 3.1 is out, and it brings rescued deferred props! 🪄
Your deferred prop might call a flaky third-party API or throw an exception. With the new rescue option, the exception is still reported, but your users won't see an error response.
@mattstauffer A spoon scraping along the skin is the best way to remove it the ginger skin to prep for cutting or grating.
Then grating it for use, need to use a shape tool that won’t clog with the fibres.
