New York City, now a surreal canvas of climate change, is enshrouded in smoky haze from distant wildfires. From my window, it looks as if a cloud of yellow mustard powder has swallowed our city - our dystopian new reality. The alarming surge in wildfires from 18,229 in '83 to 68,988 in '22 is a stark reminder of our grim situation. We're not just observers, but living through the effects of climate change.
