Shawn Mackey left a bad review on Airbnb, so the host retaliated by sending his wife security camera footage of him with another woman.

Shawn Mackey booked Pamela Fohler's property in Memphis for a weekend in September 2022.

A dispute erupted over extra guests and house rule violations, with Fohler demanding $960 in additional fees. Mackey refused, left a negative review, and requested a partial refund.

Fohler's response was a message to Mackey: "Should I forward the photos and videos to Teresa, or will you?" Teresa was his wife.

Fohler then created a fake email account and sent the photo to Teresa at her place of work with the subject line "nice bag" and the message: "I love your bag, where'd you get it?"

The body of the email contained a security camera screenshot of Mackey with another woman at 3:16am.

Mackey later admitted in court documents that it was indeed him and a woman who was not his wife caught on camera.

He sued both Fohler and Airbnb for invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress, stating his marriage had suffered severe damage as a direct result.
