🗣️ “Oh it’s just coursing… haven’t you got worse crimes to deal with…”

Today we’ve seen hares / deer pursued & ripped apart, farmers crops destroyed beyond use, land owners gates rammed, dangerous driving, & a family having abuse shouted at them by grown males 🤯

We caught most, but unfortunately not all - 10x males detained & processed, 2x vehicles seized, & dogs in kennels 🚔

A big thanks to members of @CambsWatch who were our eyes & ears today 💪🏽

Don’t come to Cambridgeshire if you’re a hare courser 👮🏽‍♂️

This Ford was spotted in Littleport, & then in March involved in hare coursing 👀

The vehicle was stopped, & within were 2x males, 2x lurcher dogs & an array of items - thermal cameras, catapults, ball bearings…

Males interviewed, issued with 7 force CPWs / dispersals & reported to court with forfeiture orders. The dogs seized & taken to kennels. The Ford seized too 💪🏽

Since April this year the team, of only 10, who cover the whole of Cambridgeshire have…

✅ attended & investigated 947 incidents & investigations

✅ conducted multiple joint operations with all 6 local councils, @EnvAgency, @DVSAEnforcement, @DVLAgovuk, @HMRCgovuk, @NCATT_UKPolice and even @INTERPOL_HQ

✅ seized 97 items either used in crime or stolen - most recently a farmers £72k JCB telehandler

✅ partnered with the likes of @nfueast, @CLAEast and @CambsWatch to make rural Cambridgeshire safer

✅ arrested & prosecuted 56 offenders & deprived them of their criminal gains

✅ flown 195 drone missions - searching for missing and wanted people, and supported operations like firearm warrants

We are investigating the theft of a sheep & its lamb from a farm in Impington, Cambridge 🐑

Sheep & lamb were stolen between 9am (03/04) & 7am (04/04).

Both had a blue '6' sprayed on each side. The sheep had an ear ID tag.

We discussed fy-tipping, rural crime and a fair deal for farmers 💙
