Writing this down for future reference. I think studying clouds / lightning should generate some interesting engineering ideas. This and biology are a great source of ideas. Using the universes ideas
This has always been the major point of difficulty for me. Did the chicken or the egg come first? Sometimes we don’t know, all we know is there is a connection between the two. But like I said, with all knowing knowledge I think you can understand as a cause and effect chain
An obvious example of this is any circuit with a diode or transistor in it. Naturally I want to go down the cause and effect chain. Wave propagates through wire —> charge reacts individually —> etc. But the human brain isn’t even close to having the computing power for that
The problem is never an unfulfilled desire. It’s the desire itself. Something we can influence but cannot control. Do everything you can to influence your desire to align with what you know you should do
I love the Fourier and Laplace transforms because it feels like you’re really describing a system. A time domain differential equation feels to me the exact same way as if u wrote computer code with a bunch of if else statements. Yea technically it works, but it’s surface lvl
The technical skill required to think in terms of a subject is insane. I’m thinking about how advanced the math is you need to model something simple. Or even music, to have an idea in your head, and knowing how to get there. The translation is always English —> Subject
There’s a very important idea / pattern I’m circling but don’t understand yet. The idea of thresholds. Finite, distinguishable states of things. But the transition between states occurs at some sort of threshold. Write this to come back in future. Feels like very important theme
But I also understand that you cannot be egoless. That is biologically not possible (unless u take some crazy drugs maybe). But as I’ve learned more, I’ve definitely moved myself down this spectrum
Even people in history who are “significant figures” ex: einstein, Maxwell, Tesla are not solely responsible for their achievements. Every human before them laid the ground work for them. The idea of a single human being revolutionary just isn’t true
Another thing I’ve noticed is how limited a single human brain is. No single human can do anything meaningful. 20 years of intense study and hard work vs a team of 100 people and that’s equivalent to 2 months. Its not as simple as that, but it shows the idea
One thing I’ve noticed about learning is there’s somewhere in the middle of accumulating new ideas vs rearranging, organizing, recognizing patterns in ideas you already know, that is most optimal
