hard to believe, Edward Hopper drew this at the age of nine.

already his eye was astute--most children don't seem to "see" figures anything like this; indeed, most adults, asked to draw a human figure, fail utterly. how odd it is that some are naturally gifted with this ability to "see" & to replicate it with a pencil or pen. even the proportions of this child-body seem accurate, & the suggestion of the water is deft, minimal, like the clouds. nine years old!

even if Biden ekes out a victory in November it is a stunning repudiation of our democracy, common & uncommon sense, & just plain decency, that a candidate so wretched as T***p will draw so many millions of votes. like a vote of 51-49 not to stone you to death.

But my point -going back to OP - is that before we lecture about a global pandemic and no place for nationalism, we should remember our own home countries have done, and therefore maybe dial back the outrage/show some patience.

@Intrepidmotion @RichardBarrow For sure, but the starting point is that the USA first took care of the USA. I don't take any great pride in the USA largely keeping vaccines and components until it started to have a surplus.

@RichardBarrow Maybe it helps if we keep in mind that USA/EU certainly took care of their citizens at home "first" through prohibitions or limitations on vaccines and vaccine components. Yes - they offered jabs to all - after hoarding the supply. Perhaps a bit of patience might be possible.
