@jacobincambodia We see a lot of these expensive vehicles driving around Vientiane, too. This year the roads are really disintegrating, so it looks even more absurd as they bottom out on potholes. But I guess they have the funds to do repairs...
@rjhintz@KruDavidNan1 Mostly baht because imports come from Thailand so vendors prefer to just charge in baht. There's a bit of naming and shaming going on in social media when people see shops openly displaying prices in foreign currency but deep down nobody wants kip.
The #LaoKip has continued to depreciate against foreign currencies, reaching a historic low today in international markets.
