Y’all ever think about back in the day when you would just start making plans via Facebook comments or posts on each other’s wall? Just openly talking schedules and what to do and who’s coming, all right there on the timeline like a performance art piece??? Unhinged behavior.
“War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.”
― Faramir; J.R.R. Tolkien
We want to be Christlike. Many of us love reflecting the truth-holder, defender-of-doctrine aspects of Jesus the most. Equally as important is Jesus’ heart to love us faithfully, despite our bad theologies.
Don’t just seek to fix. Seek to be faithful to each other.
@CapstoneReport@DavidClosson Bud, name-calling aside, it seems like they were attempting to overturn or at least disrupt a government-certified election through forcible entry and assault. So they are very bad at being insurrectionists, but I believe that definitely still qualifies them?
@megbasham@DavidClosson That’s fine, we all have preference. Again, I just want clarification on why a politicized group violently protesting change of power, assaulting police, and forcing their way into the country’s Capitol for purely political motivations is not a rebellion against the government.
@DavidClosson I think those are apt words to use as well, but that doesn’t exclude the other. I guess my confusion is around why that term is off limits given what took place. Or why we would protect the offenders from that label.
@NashSevereWx So, say a person would be about to start a drive into Nash from FL. Would that be a wise idea or would it be better to wait a day or two?
Remember:
1.There are ways to talk about Jesus on Thursday that will edify the holiday, not ruin it.
2.There are almost no ways to talk about politics that will not ruin the holiday.
3. “Real Christians should…” is likely you just using Him to bring up politics. See number 2.
@NicholasDGrein1 @TomBuck@KSPrior But again, I’m not here today defend Christine Caine, even though I don’t think she needs to be condemned for having this conversation which contains no heresy from her. I just don’t know why KSP is being asked to publicly condemn her friend when she has no relation to the video.
@NicholasDGrein1 @TomBuck@KSPrior She didn’t affirm any pagan myths or her interpretation, she responded with agreement that western individualism isn’t the only inherent way to interpret our relationship with God (which is true, God often addresses Israel as a collective people). Where did Caine speak heresy?
