The day is finally here- the release day for my first solo-authored book, “Life After Roe: Equipping Christians in the Fight for Life Today.”
I poured my heart into this project and, truthfully, I wish I could hand out thousands of copies for free to pastors, students, and faithful pro-life Christians across the country.
Since the overturning Roe, the conversation about abortion continues to unfold in legislatures, courtrooms, churches, classrooms, and homes around the country. I wrote this book to help Christians engage thoughtfully and biblically in that conversation. By exploring the biblical, theological, historical, legal, and political dimensions of the issue, I hope readers will be equipped to advocate for life in a post-Roe America.
In recent interviews, I’ve been asked why I wrote this book. My answer is threefold:
-To educate Christians on what God’s Word — and the witness of church history — teaches about the most pressing moral issue of our time.
-To equip pastors, lawmakers, and activists to engage the life issue with wisdom, clarity, and conviction.
-To encourage readers with stories of how the pro-life movement has advanced since the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
My heartfelt prayer is that this book helps Christians think more accurately and faithfully about abortion and the value of life. The overturning of Roe marked significant progress — but much work still lies ahead. May this book serve to equip the church for the important work that remains.

Ruth Graham’s story about James Talarico was insightful. In particular, the section on his grandfather provides valuable context for understanding the influences that shaped his worldview. It is difficult to read the piece without concluding that Talarico was formed within distinctly progressive political and cultural circles from an early age. His views on Scripture, abortion, and even claims about God being non-binary did not emerge in a vacuum. Rather, they appear to be the natural outworking of the intellectual and cultural environment in which he was formed.
Tidbit I liked in our Talarico story: He often cites his grandfather, a former Baptist pastor, as a spiritual influence. His grandfather said I was the first person to call him up, and we ended up talking about divides in the Southern Baptist Convention. https://t.co/qgJAN3Mn2C
"Christians should evaluate any argument -- even one that comes from a professing Christian -- by asking one question: 'Does it accurately reflect the whole counsel of God's Word?' In this case, I don't believe Representative Tallarico's position does accurately convey what is revealed in scripture."

I'm grateful that the SBC Resolutions Committee has advanced the resolution on assisted suicide that I submitted and that messengers will have the opportunity to consider it next week in Orlando.
The Southern Baptist Convention has not addressed euthanasia or assisted suicide in a resolution since 2001. At that time, only one U.S. state had legalized assisted suicide. Today, physician-assisted suicide, often referred to by the euphemistic term "medical aid in dying," is legal in thirteen states and the District of Columbia, with additional states considering similar legislation.
After reviewing the full slate of proposed resolutions, I believe the Resolutions Committee has done an excellent job serving Southern Baptists. I am grateful for their work and hope the messengers will adopt these resolutions as a clear witness to biblical truth on a number of important issues facing our churches and our culture.
Thank you for your hard work, @hunterbaker,@RHelfenbein, @jeremypierre, @jgoodyear, and the rest of the committee!

We'll discuss U.S.-Iran negotiations, the White House Anti-Fraud Task Force, the Russia-Ukraine war, and James Talarico's abortion comments.
It is for the cause of our unity in the truth that I intend to bring a motion to the Southern Baptist Convention in Orlando to amend the Constitution of the Southern Baptist Convention: “that the messengers to the Southern Baptist Convention meeting in June 2026 amend the Constitution of the SBC to add an enumerated 6th item, under Article 3, Paragraph 1, defining composition… (1/7)
“We’ve grown accustomed to using that phrase for the sexual revolution—and rightly so. A moral revolution occurs when what was once condemned becomes celebrated, and what was once celebrated becomes condemned. That’s exactly what happened to our sexual ethics over the past 60 years. But what we’re watching now reveals that the revolution didn’t stop there. It kept moving.”

"The Imperial Wizard of the Klan... was on the Southern Poverty Law Center's payroll... And of course they labeled good, pro-family organizations, conservative organizations, as hate groups, like the Family Research Council..." @Jim_Jordan, @JudiciaryGOP
In 2012, Floyd Corkins entered the lobby of FRC with 50 rounds of ammo, intending to kill as many staff as possible. Why? SPLC's "Hate Map."
Thanks to the bravery of Leo Johnson, our Building Manager — who took a bone-shattering shot in the arm — Corkins was subdued & disarmed.
Pastor Mike Law is right. @albertmohler’s amendment to the SBC Constitution is not about creating a new theological standard. Southern Baptists have already spoken clearly in the Baptist Faith and Message on the office of pastor. This amendment would provide needed clarity and help preserve truth and unity within our Convention.
As Southern Baptists, we should want our governing documents to accurately reflect our shared convictions. Clarity serves churches, messengers, and future generations. https://t.co/uuHBHCcK8L

“Thankfully, Roe v. Wade is on the ash heap of history. But the fight for the sanctity of life is just beginning. David Closson has written an indispensable guide for Christians that not only articulates the moral imperative of opposing abortion but offers a road map for creating a culture of life in America after Dobbs. Every serious Christian should have this book in their library.”

“David is a rising voice applying a biblical worldview for today’s most pressing cultural issues. In his work, Life after Roe, David provides a compelling and compassionate defense for the pro-life issue with biblical, historical, and practical perspectives. In a post-Roe environment, Christians must be equipped to be a testament to the beauty of our biblical convictions applied to the care and defense of every human life. David provides the road map for believers to be theologically rooted and lovingly engaged in this calling to stand for life.”

I’ve been listening to @WillyRice over the last few weeks and continue to be impressed. I think Southern Baptists would be well served if he became our convention president.
I’m grateful for Dr. Mohler’s leadership on this issue. As a Convention, we have devoted significant time and attention to this topic at recent Annual Meetings, and I believe this amendment would provide much-needed clarity moving forward.
A message to my fellow Southern Baptists. We need to get this done and move forward together. I propose an amendment to preserve our unity in truth. https://t.co/51wbtoJoMT

We'll discuss the Trump-Xi summit, human rights abuses in China, SCOTUS's mifepristone decision, and the reconciliation process.
This is a significant development and a sobering reminder of what happens when ideology overtakes medicine.
For years, many warned that administering puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and irreversible medical interventions to minors was not compassionate healthcare, but experimental medicine driven by a flawed understanding of the human person.
Children struggling with confusion or distress deserved truth, counseling, and compassionate care, not life-altering procedures many would later regret.
From a biblical perspective, human beings are created male and female in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Our bodies are not accidents to be rejected or reconstructed according to subjective feelings. True compassion does not affirm confusion or encourage irreversible harm.
The fact that Texas Children’s Hospital has agreed to stop these procedures, pay millions in penalties, and establish a clinic for detransitioners highlights the human cost of these practices.
This announcement also demonstrates that government has a legitimate responsibility to protect children from dangerous medical experimentation. Children are not capable of giving informed consent to procedures with lifelong consequences.
Christians should pray for the families affected, support those seeking healing, and continue advocating for policies rooted in truth, biological reality, and the dignity of every human being. Protecting children is not cruelty. It is a moral obligation.
Justice Department Secures Landmark Resolution to End Pediatric “Gender-Affirming Care” and Create Detransition Clinic
“The Justice Department will use every weapon at its disposal to end the destructive and discredited practice of so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ for children,” said Acting Attorney General @DAGToddBlanche. “Today’s resolution protects vulnerable children, holds providers accountable, and ensures those harmed receive the care they need.”

A disappointing decision from SCOTUS. Allowing mail-order abortion to continue—even temporarily—will cost thousands of unborn lives, harm countless women, and rob pro-life states of the ability to enforce their laws.
And this was by design of the Biden FDA. As Justice Alito wrote in his dissent: “What is at stake is the perpetration of a scheme to undermine our decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which restored the right of each State to decide how to regulate abortions within its borders.”
But this case is far from over. The Court did not weigh in on the merits of our litigation, and I am confident that our case is strong. Louisiana @AGLizMurrill and @ADFLegal will return to the Fifth Circuit on behalf of women, babies, and pro-life states.
This morning, @WNGdotorg had me on their news program to discuss the recent DOJ report detailing how the Biden administration systematically disadvantaged and discriminated against Christians. You can listen here:

Congratulations, Bobby, and congratulations to @MBTS.
Bobby was one of my pastors at CHBC. He is absolutely brilliant, but also deeply kind and pastoral. Students will be greatly blessed to study under him.
I'm delighted to share that I've accepted a full-time position as visiting professor of biblical and theological studies at Midwestern Seminary (@MBTS). I'm excited and eager to help train the next generation of pastors alongside an excellent faculty!
