Undying Tales Yellow-billed Loon.
The Tsimshian people have a tale of how the loon helped a blind man regain his sight. In return, he gifted Loon his traditional Tsimshian necklace, and it created the white pattern of feathers around the bird’s ruff.

In Japanese folklore there is a supernatural feline entity called bakeneko or “changed cat”. These spirit cats possess shape-shifting abilities that allow them to disguise themselves as smaller harmless housecats, or as humans.

The Aztec deity Quetzalcoatl is inspired by this bird as it is adorned with the same feathers. The bird also represents freedom as they die in captivity.

Undying Tales Day 29 Giant Golden-crowned Bat

The Aswang of Filipino law is maiden by day and vampire witch by night. She flies as a Bat and eats via a long proboscis through the roof to eat the heart & entrails of her victims.
