Theatre & International Relations academic @LancasterUni. Creative protest, populism, applied theatre, and the space in between Performance & Politics.
1/3 Last summer we saw @ma_theatre_spec students from @LancasterUni run a community workshop at the Dukes with our Prime Time members. This was a great success and our Prime Time members had a fantastic experience!
To all of our students, staff, visiting practitioners and community hosts - thank you for a wonderful 2023. Here's to more radical creativity in 2024 and beyond!

ATTENTION THEATRE MAKERS, A MESSAGE FROM PALESTINE: ‘Ashtar Theatre have launched an urgent request to theatre makers around the world to publicly read or perform The Gaza Monologues on November 29th 2023’ 1/6
@RLGerrish re: words like 'hate marchers' and 'disrespectful', I suspect such language would also have been aimed at Civil Rights marchers & Peterloo protesters. History is rife with protests that have improved democracy but were considered disrespectful in their time.
Thank you @LBCNews for having me on today. The line dropped as I said that we should be celebrating the vibrancy of public political debate in the UK. What are we honouring on #RemembranceDay if not the efforts of previous gens to ensure that democratic diversity flourishes?
Just returned from two wonderfully thought-provoking days with @populismPSA - thank you so much for the opportunity to hear from such a great range of scholars working on aesthetics and populism. Much food for thought!

Panopto auto-captions have transcribed my references to gender performativity as 'the performative itty-bitty'. I like it. I think I'm going to keep it.

This is incredible news - so important for the region, and very exciting for our students studying Theatre and Climate Change! Congrats to everyone who has worked so hard on this for so long.
I just asked ChatGPT to respond to my UG essay questions - questions that I painstakingly crafted to ensure originality and critical thinking. How terribly depressing and frightening. Back to the drawing board.
