Camphill Gate in #Glasgow’s Shawlands deservedly won a @GlasgowDODF prize for best tour a few years ago so this great Glasgow Style tenement is always worth checking out.
Especially so as there’s a haunting moment of pathos on the second floor at the door to Flat 2/2 where Robert Glasse Knox lived prior to dying of his wounds received on 3rd May 1915 during the Gallipoli campaign.
What a loss for his poor family and to think that is the original art nouveau front door handle, escutcheon and door bell all of which this young soldier would have touched…😢
Passed the #ABC#Glasgow and though the contractor is busy dismantling what is #Scotland’s best surviving Walter Macfarlane cast iron building screen, other parts including boarded over windows are now being revealed. It’s all looking in remarkably good condition 👀👇🧐🤔🥰!

With rumours rife that the old DiMaggio's on the corner of Minard and Pollokshaws Road is to reopen as the Sou'side's first Paesano Pizza outlet, let's remember the site's deep Italian roots. Back in the early 1900s, it was an Italian Warehouse, keeping locals in imported treats.
My decorated fan lights looking lovely in the morning sun. Though we might need a window cleaner!
1004's is about the old bakery that was once where I stand.

The buddelia / buddleja has really taken hold this year, especially notable on Frankfort St end of the former Waverley Picture House. The upper stone furthest right looks set to be the first to topple & what's happening inside... India Buildings mark two? https://t.co/8sSDqiVPTG
