since API key changes now require 2FA, a lot less people have been getting api scammed by phishing sites etc - which is great

HOWEVER, this also means scammers have been getting creative and social engineering seems to be an increasingly more common occurrence.

they’re patient and will most likely chat, play games, etc without even discussing skins - sometimes for weeks - until you’re comfortable enough for them to take advantage of that.

the “good” news is that granted the increased effort it requires they’re only targeting larger inventories

obviously all of this is easily avoided with standard due diligence, but I figured it would be worth tweeting about regardless

Posting a sad story today, a dude recently contacted me, asking me if I knew some high level dude, I honestly answered no because I didn't remember he was in my friends list. turns out he traded some skins to said dude and looks like he didn't pay (1/?)

At this point, trying to see if what this dude is saying is true, I contact this Tomoe, but everytime I ask about the trade he goes offline, he has no csgorep profile, nothing, I've tried searching the skins on FloatDB and they are of the previous dude claiming them (2/?)
