The US can cut off Canada at Anytime. They will have shortterm consequences but will be just fine.

Canada however would face major consequences. Not only would the dollar weaken significantly trigering a major recession/inflation, Alberta would have 100s of thousands of jobs loss, giving them the fuel to get the referendum through.

Then the US could negotiate with Alberta directly as a Sovereign nation.

This is perhaps unlikely to happen, but please stop kidding yourself acting like Canada has any leverage in this fight.

My canadian born, French/English speaking 20yo kid just interviewed at the local Tim Horton.

Unfortunately he couldn't understand a damn thing the Indian woman was asking. So hes not sure if he got the job. They did call him but was even harder to make sense of what was being said.
