I view Hal Niedzviecki’s decision to end Broken Pencil as his selfish and spiteful personal choice. One that deeply lets down the very community that helped BP grow to be a vital space for the zine community and independent arts.

I hope that in the deep hole Broken Pencil Magazine's ending leaves, healthy communities take root. I hope that these communities are not so vulnerable to one individual person’s experiences, beliefs, and shortcomings.
