@brianlilley Sadly I disagree with you on this the Gripen is a fantasy choice to add along with the the F-35’s that we already have purchased. We really do not need a all stealth fighter or one that doesn’t allow us to have sovereignty or autonomy from a foreign power
@brianlilley We choose. With out the fear that if we do or say something that upsets whatever U.S. President is in at the time it could effectively turn these planes in to paper weights. Honestly there is to much downside for us to exercise the option to purchase the remaining 72 aircraft
@brianlilley There is no rule that says we must use one type of aircraft in the RCAF, the two planes would work well together if we deployed them correctly. Plus with the Saab we are in control not a foreign country, with parts and software updates. Plus we can use whatever weapons systems
Our hearts go out to everyone in Jasper, those who call it home, care for it, and helped build it. On behalf of all Albertans, I want to express deep gratitude to the brave front-line responders who have shown true heroism. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to keeping our people safe!
Our government will continue to provide daily updates on the situation in Jasper and do everything we can to fight these fires. The Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre is arranging staging grounds, meeting points, hotels and meals for all of those affected. In the meantime, we advise Albertans to follow the Alberta Emergency App and stay informed on highway closures to ensure your safety and the safety of your loved ones.
