@bengelinas I agree that there are elements of 3 that are great that it doesn’t get enough credit for. For my money, the Sandman inclusion/backstory you refer to is what sinks it below the first two. He doesn’t feel like he belongs in the established world.
@lesterleesm “Monsters can’t crit” seems like an arbitrary rule to make things easier for players to win, as if that was ever the ultimate goal of collaborative RPGs. Crits are always offers of storytelling gold, whether successes or failures. Everyone should have them.
@VinceSideJokes They also vehemently insist that they’re identical twins and constantly pull “switcheroos” and no one can convince them that they’re not actually identical. Their spy boss is played by Michelle Yeoh.
@IntellectHomo It also has a lot of puzzles and challenges and enemies whose fights are based around the precise angle of your controller to mimic directional sword swings. This was touted as a dynamic feature. I was more lukewarm on it in execution.
@IntellectHomo (This is based off of playing the original - no clue what the HD update changes) I liked it, but never went for a second playthrough. Structurally it’s a little repetitive, with revisiting areas more than fresh locations. The wide open sky just feels more empty than free.
