It’s official! Louai Bibi, CFP®, CIM®, R.F.P. is the winner of the 2026 National Financial Planning Awards.

Louai presented a case study that was both complex and intimate.

“Personal finance is personal,” says Louai, an Ottawa-based financial planner with PWL Capital.

“There’s always research and evidence and data that we can lean on, but at the end of the day, people have to feel that everything will be OK.”

By speaking to both the head and the heart, and presenting a plan that went the extra mile, Louai’s work stood out to win the 2026 NFPAs 🏆

Please join us in congratulating Louai!

How did @AlyshaTse do in the Hot Seat at FinFires this year? 🌶️
Watch this clip for the Moment of Truth.

It’s the one-two punch at the heart of this annual FPAC tradition.

A hot sauce-soaked chicken wing that had both Alysha and @adamchapman catching their breath.

Can the Hot Seater handle BOTH the hot sauce and the heated question?

(A financial planning would-you-rather, in the finest FinFires tradition. Sorry, members only.)

Alysha was up to the challenge, although that final sauce definitely had something to say about it.

And that’s part of what made FinFires such a great moment for the FPAC community this summer.

Financial planners coming together.
Talking shop.
Having a laugh.
And not taking themselves too seriously while they do it.

Thanks to Alysha for being such a great sport, and to Adam for cranking up that Hot Seat heat 🌶️

Managing the money will only get us so far.

Financial planning has always been about more than the numbers.

The future of our profession asks us to bring that belief more fully into our work.

To understand the person.
What they want from life.
And how we can help them get there.

That’s the conversation we’re opening up at the next public event from FPAC Education.

Joining us is Dennis Moseley-Williams, a sizzling speaker whose message gets to the heart of what FPAC is about.

His topic?
The Transformation Economy.
The shift from wealth management to wealthcare.

From managing assets to helping people achieve their aspirations.

A healthier, wealthier, wiser life.

And that asks something different of the advisor–client relationship.

Happy clients.
Satisfied clients.

What if we could go further?

Help them feel understood.
Connected.
Like they belong.

Because human connection matters.
And in the age of AI, it matters even more.

Dennis will explore where value has shifted, what clients expect, and the conditions that make transformation possible.

He’ll also introduce three frameworks to help us think through what this means for our work.

Join us.

Thank you to our friends at @AdvancedPlanner! Who else is already looking forward to next year's #IAFPSymposium in Winnipeg?

[Financial Planning Association of Canada @fpacanada]

What is FPAC?

We’re a membership organization with a mission.
We’re a community with compassion.
We’re education with intent.

When you see #financialplanners pushing themselves to be the best they can be — that’s us.

We're a movement that's gaining strength across Canada, one that's inclusive, welcoming, and warm.

At the end of the day, it's not about CE. (But there is that too.)

It's about being part of something bigger, a community of shared beliefs.

FPAC is for planners, by planners.
And for the future of our profession.

[Financial Planning Association of Canada @fpacanada]

The #IAFPSymposium is almost done! FPACers and our @AdvancedPlanner friends have loved beautiful #Nanaimo. The Symposium has been in full swing (golf pun intended) and it’s been a blast.

A big thank you to Leslie Gardner for this incredible get-to-know-you bingo game to help FPAC members connect.

And shout out to Jim Pan for sharing these gorgeous golf photos. When you’re in B.C., you gotta go see the sea.

[Financial Planning Association of Canada @fpacanada]

Congrats to @MeaganBalaneski on her big moment — this big moment right here.

Meagan submitted her plan quietly. She was judged anonymously. And she won.

And now, she has this week received her trophy for the 2025 FP Awards, here in Nanaimo, in the spotlight, in front of an amazing #IAFPSymposium crowd.

But this moment isn't just about Meagan.

It's about all her fellow #financialplanners, from across Canada, who entered to compete in the FP Awards.

You helped us show what great #financialplanning can look like.

[Financial Planning Association of Canada @fpacanada]

Congratulations to @MeaganBalaneski, winner of the 2025 FP Awards.

Her plan stood out for its clarity, depth, and emotional intelligence.

Gratitude to Meagan, and to every competitor this year.

Your work strengthens your clients’ lives, and uplifts the #FinancialPlanning profession as a whole.

[Financial Planning Association of Canada @fpacanada]

“How many members are we up to now?”
Great question, Markus @CGWM_Muhs

A rising tide lifts all boats.
And we're proud of everyone who has come to row beside us.

(Still lots of room in this boat, btw.)

#financialplanners #AGMrecap

[Financial Planning Association of Canada @fpacanada]

Financial planning isn’t about making perfect plans.
It’s about what happens when life doesn’t go to plan.

h/t @JuliaChungFP @jasonpereira

[Financial Planning Association of Canada @fpacanada]

The FPAC AGM isn’t just a date on the calendar. It’s how we stay transparent, on-course, and member-led.

Each year, it gives us a clear moment to look back at what’s been built …

And make real decisions about what comes next.

We’ll be voting to confirm two new directors.
Reviewing this year’s financials.

And hearing updates from the committees doing the work.

But it’s not just about reporting.
It’s about direction.

Our members don’t just observe what’s happening.
They shape it.
That’s what keeps this organization responsive, evolving, and credible.

All full and retired FPAC members are entitled to vote.

Student and Affiliate members are welcome to attend and participate, even if they don’t hold a vote.

Last year, members voted to approve student membership.
That single vote brought over 100 new students into our community.

This year, we’re expanding that momentum, by introducing intern roles on the board for both students and early-career planners.

It’s a small change. But it signals something big.

We’re building a governance model that reflects the full spectrum of the profession.

So whether you’re attending to cast a vote, ask a question, or just listen in …

This is a meaningful space to take part in the future of #financialplanning in Canada.

So if you care about the future of financial planning in Canada …
Who shapes it, how it's led, and where it’s going …
